NIMNGRADUATING students from the National Institutes of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) have been charged on the need to create values and cultivate the spirit of excellence in their professional dealings.

Giving the charge at the institute’s 9th convocation and graduation ceremony, held in Lagos, recently, the  President and Chairman in Council of  the institute, Mr. Tony Agenmonmen told the new graduates that having made the career choice to become a marketer comes with responsibility, especially as a professional member of the institute.

“Marketing is all about delivering outstanding value to the customer.

In this regard, I enjoin you to develop insatiable hunger for knowledge and skills that will enhance your competitiveness and differentiate you from the crowd.

The NIMN boss reminded the graduands of the immense benefits of being members of the institute,  stating that it offers them the platform to network and expand their professional contact base for career advancement and development.

Agenmomem said that the Institute was established by Act 25 of 2003, and therefore, the only professional marketing body in Nigeria that regulates and control the practice of marketing in the country.

“Membership of the institute is an endorsement of your marketing skills and competence by the Institute, and as such  gives you credibility, visibility and acceptability in the marketing world”, he added.

Earlier, the Council Chairman shared in their joy and excitement of having attained a milestone in their journey for a career in marketing, but also reminded them that the diplomas and certificates serves only as entry requirement in the overall quest for a successful career in marketing through the NIMN.

He also used the occasion to urge those among them that are yet to be gainfully employed to use the challenge to discover their hidden potential by developing entrepreneurial spirit and the discipline to scan the environment for business opportunities to be exploited.

A total of 86 graduates were admitted to the Chartered Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing; 94 to the Chartered Graduate Diploma in Marketing and Seven to the Professional Certificate in Marketing respectively.
